My review:
So much border! So much O-Pee-Chee logo! Not a fan of this base design, my least favorite from the sets I’ll be reviewing (08-09 – 19-20). Once again the hierarchy between the player name and O-Pee-Chee logo needs to be swapped, but that wouldn’t save the design thanks to the huge swashes of drab black and silver along the bottom and right side of every card. Maybe if those elements were reduced in size and team colors were used the design would start to work.
The retros on the other hand look great, the first of many Upper Deck original retro-inspired designs that I can’t get enough of. There is again a lot of border, but the border is bright and inventive. I like the outline of the NHL shield around every player picture, the typography is spot-on, and even the small white stars are a nice touch with a nod to the original 1933 O-Pee-Chee cards.
Other than the retros, the selection of inserts again doesn’t do a lot for me. The addition of In Action inserts adds a tiny bit more interest compared to the previous couple of years.
My ratings /10:

Update Set #601-620
Upper Deck again changed up their approach on distributing update cards. An extra 20 cards (and their parallels) were inserted into the next year’s release of 2011-12 O-Pee-Chee. This is the only time Upper Deck has used that tactic.
All 20 cards were Marquee Rookies, highlighted by Kevin Shattenkirk, Mats Zuccarello, and Ryan McDonagh.
Agree with u 100% on base design more team colors would have helped.
The 1 in 4 hobby pack inserts should have been part of base set with all the parallels would have plenty to chase.
Other inserts hit the mark.
I have a couple others in mind but I’m on no payroll.
As for the update set this is the perfect way or simply wait for the puck to drop on season
But upper deck never could do much right it was always how can we sell our series.
As with later years they put opc in series 2 upper deck.
Sorry I always disliked that method.
