My review:
Upper Deck had really hit their stride with O-Pee-Chee by now. To be honest, I feel pretty much the same towards all of the releases between 2014-15 and 2019-20: that they are awesome thanks to the great base and retros they’ve been nailing since 2012-13 plus the addition of at least one super cool insert set each year.
So 2015-16 is another fantastic offering, with a refreshing, modern base design that does not have any obvious reference points. And the retro parallels are spot-on with colorful, diagonally-divided backgrounds and typography that call to mind 1958-59 Topps without being a direct recreation. It is my favorite of the “new retro” designs from Upper Deck up to this point (and is my second favorite as of 2020).
The insert game remains strong thanks to the return of V Series minis, this year’s edition dubbed V Series B, again falling one per 16 hobby packs. There are also loud, neon-green bordered All-Star glossy inserts to look for at a rate of one per eight hobby packs, in addition to the usual assortment of much tougher inserts like autographs, manufactured patches, etc.
My ratings /10:
base design 7.5 retro design 8.7 inserts 7.6 overall 9.0

Marquee Rookies #501-550, Marquee Legends #551-599, Checklist #600
The 2015-16 rookie class is legendary, but O-Pee-Chee’s early season release means none of the big names are included here. Even by carry-over standards, it is a weak rookie crop, without a single big name to chase.

The retro set again featured 18 unannounced and super short printed cards added to the checklist at numbers 601-618. Nine awards winners from the previous season are included along with eight retired “all-timers” and one card featuring the Stanley Cup.
