I recently picked up a monster box loaded with over 2,600 1984-85 O-Pee-Chee cards. The full set only has 396 cards, so that’s an average of about seven copies of each card! The lot did not include several key rookies and stars, so no Yzerman, Chelios, LaFontaine, etc., but what it lacks in marquee cards is made up for with the pristine condition of the cards. There’s no avoiding some of the bad centering and rough cuts that O-Pee-Chees often included straight from the production line, but these cards look like they were just pulled out of a pack. Razor sharp corners, bright colors, no gum stains, etc.
Some of the key cards that were included are nine immaculate Doug Gilmour rookies, four beautiful Dave Andreychuk rookies, and a ton of mint condition checklist cards.
And since I have at least one copy of 380 of the cards, I should be able to help out any set builders that haven’t finished off this season!
